Put it upfront:
- It's best to ride a bike around West Lake, avoid public transport, and definitely don't drive!
- My blog doesn't have the kind of layout like Xiaohongshu, so I'll just alternate images within the text~
Today is the first rest day in Hangzhou. In the morning, I moved my luggage to the rented house, tidied up the room, washed the quilt, and was busy until two o'clock.
I took a nap at the hotel, and when I woke up, it was already four o'clock. I still wanted to go out for a walk. I originally planned to go to Lingyin Temple, but it was a bit far, so I gave up. I then planned to stroll around West Lake. It was originally a three-kilometer distance, and it only took twenty minutes by bike, but I really shouldn't have taken the bus 🚌; I ended up sitting for an hour!!! Because there were too many people and cars around West Lake, it was so congested. I really can't understand why there are so many people on just an ordinary weekend...
By the time I got to West Lake, it was already past five, right at sunset. I took my camera and randomly snapped a few pictures. I hadn't taken photos in a long time, and with so many people coming and going, I found it hard to get into the mood.
Later, I put on my headphones 🎧 and thought about the street photography videos I had watched before. I decided not to see myself as a tourist but as a photography enthusiast taking a walk after dinner. I felt like I managed to take a few decent shots.
I didn't just focus on the scenery; I also tried to capture some people.
Unfortunately, it got dark quickly, and there were still many attractions I hadn't visited. By the time I passed by the Yue Fei Temple, it was already closed, so I guess I'll come back another time.
After returning to the hotel, I opened Lightroom, which I hadn't used in a long time, and forced myself to edit some photos. Actually, adjusting the tones does improve the images; I just used to be too lazy.
The two pictures of the Yue Fei Temple and the street lamp were taken with my phone, so they appear very bright. In reality, it was already quite dark at that time, and my camera was too noisy at night, so I didn't use it.
It's been a week since I left school. I'm still learning at work and don't feel too much pressure; the team atmosphere is also quite nice. Looking back at every day of graduate school, it was really too oppressive and uncomfortable! I'm really glad I got out early; changing the environment has made me so much happier.
